About the Artist
Elizabeth Stuart Centanni has been creating portraits of pets and people for about 12 years, but she has nurtured a love of animals throughout her life. "I believe that animals are gifts to us from God. They show us that unconditional love that warms our hearts, and they remind us that there is good in the world," she said.
She became interested in creating pet portraits while drawing her father's eight chihuahuas as presents for him. Liz feels that a pet's personality ought to shine through the drawing, and she focuses on making sure her creations reflect that. Liz grew up in New Orleans and spent many a weekend prowling the museum and galleries with her mother, who is an incredible painter.
Liz worked as a professional journalist for newspapers along the Gulf Coast for about five years after graduating from Loyola University New Orleans. She now works in communications for a non-profit.
Liz lives in the Houston area with her husband, Tony. They are proud parents of Nico, a 12-year-old calico cat who is kind enough to allow them to live in her house.
